About Me
I’m J. Eric. I’m a Medical doctor and global health leader with a passion for communication and capacity-building
I trained in Medical school at the University of Rwanda. And, I am pursuing a Master’s in Global Health Delivery at the University of Global Health Equity.
The way I turned in communication artist and consultant is an incredible story!
In the first year, I bumped into 2 ideas that changed the course of my career:
One, ” You can have brilliant ideas, but if you can’t get them across, your ideas won’t get you anywhere” by Lee Iacocca.
Two, “The difference between ordinary and extraordinary people is that little extra” by Jim Johnson.
I decided not to be another ordinary doctor; my chosen extra was unique communication skills.
I took courses on effective communication from Michigan University, read books, and joined the Toastmasters club (later, I became the president). I gained writing, presentation, speaking, and digital communication skills.
In 2021, one morning in Virology class, my classmate freaked out while presenting on viral infections. I felt sorry for her because I had skills, and my presentations were always a benchmark.
I organized free training on effective communications at the university (only paying for a certificate). Students showed up in lots. I shared business writing, public speaking, and presentation design.
From that day on, I have trained over 1000 youth and young professionals, worked with health organizations to develop and execute health communication strategies, spoken at a global state like TEDx, coached tens of individuals on communication, and made an extra income due to an additional skill.
My passion is to build the capacities of professionals in their careers by improving communication and empowering communities through knowledge-sharing
